Lotus Cars Australia has introduced the ultra exclusive Lotus Elise Cup 250 Bathurst Edition – an Australian-only machine limited to a total of Six units nationally, paying tribute to Australia’s greatest race track.

Full Media release as below:

“Lotus Cars Australia has built a strong enthusiast and track day community, and our Lotus-only Bathurst days are the centrepiece,” said Lotus Cars Australia Managing Director, Lee Knappett. “In February 2019, over 100 cars and 150+ customers participated in our day and we decided to celebrate this with a special edition car”.

The Lotus Elise Cup 250 Bathurst Edition is available now, priced from $109,990 plus on-road costs. Free entry to the next Lotus Bathurst track day scheduled for February 5th 2020 is complimentary to each of the lucky owners.

Immediately standing the Lotus Elise Cup 250 Bathurst Edition out from the crowd is its stunning Monaco White paint finish. This colour was last seen on James Bond’s incomparable Lotus Esprit in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me.

The hardtop, front access panel and roll hoop cover are also finished in Monaco White, the latter concealing a motorsport-grade T45 stainless steel rollover hoop.

Offsetting the crisp paintwork are the black forged alloy wheels, measuring 16 inches on the front axle and 17 inches on the rear. A matt black transom, red rear wing uprights and bespoke ‘Bathurst Cup 250’ decals bring further individualisation.

Moving to the interior, the Lotus Elise Cup 250 Bathurst Edition features lightweight Carbon Fibre race seats, floor mats, red trim highlights and swathes of tactile Alcantara trim.
An individualised build plate (showing ‘1 of 6’, ‘2 of 6’ etc) is also affixed inside, further ensuring exclusivity.

Weighing only 931kg (kerb), the Elise Cup 250’s responses are superbly sharp, ensuring strong and consistent acceleration, braking and handling.

Focused lightweight parts, such as a lithium-ion battery, forged alloy wheels, carbon fibre race seats and a polycarbonate rear windscreen are fitted as standard.

Harnessing this natural weight advantage, the Lotus Elise Cup 250’s body has been designed to maximise airflow. Thanks to its bespoke aerodynamic package the Cup 250 is capable of generating up to 148kg of downforce, effectively clamping the car to the road.

For optimal weight distribution, the Elise Cup 250’s supercharged and charge cooled engine is mid-mounted.
This 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine also generates a strong 181kW and can accelerate the Elise Cup 250 to 100km/h in only 4.3 seconds. While powerful, the unit is also tremendously efficient, returning combined fuel consumption figures of only 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres.

A six-speed manual transmission, with a superbly engineered open-gate shift mechanism, offers another key link between car and driver, taking power directly to the rear wheels in the best motorsport tradition.

Fully independent, double wishbone suspension is featured on all four corners, with an adjustable front anti-roll bar to further trim the Elise’s dynamic response.

Bilstein dampers are specifically tuned for the Lotus Elise Cup 250’s track-biased bent. Compared to the Elise Sport 220, the front axle’s compression damping is 12 per cent firmer, and a whole 20 per cent firmer on rebound.

On the rear axle compression damping rises nine per cent, with a substantial 30 per cent increase in rebound damping stiffness.

Eibach coaxial coil springs ensure finely tuned reactions to the road surface, which is transmitted via lightweight forged alloy wheels. At 16 inches up front and 17 inches at the rear, these motorsport grade alloys are shod with Yokohama Advan A052 tyres, at 195/50 R16 front and 225/45 R17 rear sizes.

Slowing things down, AP Racing twin-piston front and Brembo rear calipers clamp ventilated brake discs, ensuring a consistent pedal and fade-free performance.

Inside, the carbon fibre race seats immediately embrace and lightweight Alcantara trims and exposed aluminium finishes abound, with red contrast stitching.

Lotus standard warranty terms and conditions for Cup model cars apply to the Elise Cup 250 Bathurst Edition (2 years, 33,000 Km). The cars also come with 3 years roadside assistance and 3 years included manufacturer scheduled servicing.
