Jaguar F-Type Supercharged V6 recalled, due to being “too loud”.

Jaguar‘s F-Type 3.0-litre Supercharged V6 has been recalled due to being too loud.

The F-Type has long been one of our favourite sports cars on the road today, and we recently had some serious fun putting in some track time with a couple at Jaguar’s Art of Performance Tour. Admittedly, the smaller 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder variant can be a bit “bland”, the same can’t be said for the supercharged V6 and V8 versions, which are absolutely phenomenal, and produce some of the best sounding exhaust notes at full chat.

However, someone at an The Australian Government’s Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development – has decided that the Supercharged 3.0-litre V6, is too loud, and has issued a recall for 28 vehicles, stating that “The static noise level exceeds the regulated maximum decibel limit.” and as a hazard “Vehicles may not meet the required noise emissions standards.”

Jaguar Land Rover will notify affected owners by letter to request that vehicles are brought to an authorised Jaguar retailer to arrange an update to the vehicle software.

Owners can contact Jaguar Land Rover on 1300 787 803 for more information.
