The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz A250 sedans are now in Australia, with two variants to choose from: the front-wheel-drive A250 from $53,000 and the all-wheel-drive A250 4Matic from $59,200. (Both prices exclude on-road costs.)
Both of the A250 variants are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 165kW of power and 350Nm of torque, paired to a 7G-DCT seven-speed automatic transmission, capable of propelling the small sedan from 0-100km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Fuel consumption are listed as 6.4L/100km for the A250, and 6.6L/100km for the A250 4Matic.
Fitted as standard for the A250 Sedan is the advanced MBUX multimedia system with navigation, extensive personalisation and voice control functions; two 10.25-inch digital display screens arranged in widescreen format; THERMATIC climate control; KEYLESS Start; DAB digital radio, a 225-watt, nine-speaker sound system; the latest-generation sports steering wheel with touch controllers; reversing camera; smartphone integration with wireless charging; and steering wheel shift paddles. It rides on 18-inch, 5 twin-spoke alloy wheels in high-sheen black, with a two-pipe, chrome-look exhaust system finishing off the rear end.
On the safety front, it also receives Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Assist and Adaptive Highbeam Assist.
The A250 Sedan also incorporates compatibility with the “Mercedes me Connect” smartphone App, allowing direct interactivity with the vehicle with functions such as locking or unlocking the doors, starting the engine remotely, accessing key vehicle information or configure servicing requirements.
Stepping up into the The A250 4MATIC Sedan also gains some favourable standard inclusions (besides the all-weather assurance and superior dynamics of the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system). These includes KEYLESS-GO system, Comfort Sports seats in DINAMICA microfibre, brushed stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs, 64-colour ambient lighting, red contrast stitching, a Nappa leather steering wheel with a flattened lower section and a panoramic glass sunroof.
On the outside, the A250 4MATIC Sedan also includes AMG body styling on front and rear aprons and side sill panels, a ‘diamond’ radiator grille, and dark-tinted rear privacy glass. There are also additional performance features such as a Sports Direct steering system, perforated front brake discs and lowered comfort suspension.
The A 250 4MATIC Sedan is on sale now, with deliveries expected to begin in March.
