Priced from $113,990 before on road costs, the locally-converted pickup truck is more than $10,000 pricier than the range topping RAM 1500 Laramie V8.

That said though, the Silverado definitely has a lot going for it. It might be the mid-spec variant in America, but the LTZ Premium Edition is the only model we get over here in Australia and importers have made sure that it’s highly specced up for our market.

Power comes courtesy of a 6.2-litre petrol V8 that develops 313kW of power and 624Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. As a comparison, the RAM 1500 V8 is powered by a 5.7-litre petrol V8 that produces 291kW and 556Nm. Both vehicles do however offer the same 4500kg braked-towing capacity (when fitted with a heavy-duty towing package).

As you can tell from the interior shots, it’s most certainly a nice place to be seated, with a lot of room for front and rear occupants, and come loaded with a suite of safety technology as standard.
